FarField is an advanced wireless charging protocol that distributes power to connected devices through the use of intelligently controlled radio signals. These radio signals are used to create a dynamic energy landscape that actively adapts to the environment, leveraging spatial reflections to transmit non-line-of-sight (non-LoS).
FarField networks deliver power to connected-devices through dispersed radio signals, much like how Wi-Fi delivers data. But instead of isotropically broadcasting radio signals, FarField actively monitors the energy landscape to provide peak power at the receiving device. Using advanced Signal Mapping and Reflection Optimization algorithms, a FarField-certified station intelligently pinpoints the optimal transmit control parameters to deliver power to connected devices and manage the network’s distribution of power.
Rather than replacing any existing communication protocol, FarField acts as a power layer that expands the low power IoT (LP-IoT) tech-stack and enables a new energy backend for LP-IoT devices. Developers can use FarField to increase their LP-IoT power budget and design with higher sample rates, transmission rates, onboard processing capabilities, and more.
